Jesse named as skipper for the second year

NORTHERN FOOTBALL League star midfielder Jesse Donaldson will again lead the Montmorency senior football club on-field team.
Other members of the leadership group include last year's best and fairest winner Steve McCallum (deputy vice captain), spearhead Patrick Fitzgerald (vice captain), ruckman Joel McLellan (deputy vice captain), key forward Ben Walton (vice captain) and Billy Jenkin (deputy vice captain).
In announcing the leadership team, the same group as season 2016, coach Ben Haynes said that Jesse will go into the 2017 season for the second year as skipper.
"He will be supported by Ben and Patrick, who are both loyal, long-time servants of the MFNC,'' Ben said.
"Jesse has done a wonderful job leading the boys, and Ben Walton is a natural leader who the boys look up to. Pat Fitz has really developed his leadership in the past two years and sets a great example on and off the field. Stevie Mac is one of our hardest workers who is well respected by his peers. Joel is a past best and fairest winner, while Billy is one of our up-and-comers.''
